Sorry that I haven't been on the blog as much the last few days. Our daughter's first day of preschool was today, and we have been getting ready for the big event. She was so cute in the outfit she picked out for herself and so proud to be going to school. She's been asking for almost 2 months now if it is her first day of school yet.
My husband took off work so that he could also be there to escort her in and meet her teachers. I was teary after we left her and having all of those normal thoughts about whether or not I would still be needed.
Then, around 12:30pm we received a call from the school that she had fallen out of her chair at lunchtime and had a large contusion on her forehead. I'm not too much of an alarmist parent, and I halfway expected to get to the classroom and say that it was nothing to worry about. That didn't happen though due to the size of the injury, and we met Daddy at the doctor's office. After a thorough check-up the doctor said that she was fine. Our daughter asked if she could go back to school, which I thought was pretty great considering all that had happened. The doctor recommended that we return home and that she could go back to school on her next scheduled day.
With all of the events of the day, it was as if God was saying to me, "Of course you still have a role, you silly gal!"
I hope to be back in tomorrow with some good deals for you!
