With all that is in the news about plastics and how harmful some of their components can be, our family tries to stick with storing foods, especially warm foods, in glass. In order to make this a little cheaper, I save jars in all sizes. Pimento jars are perfect for a little salad dressing in a packed lunch. Wide mouthed salsa jars store some of the bulk buys that I purchase. Tall olive jars are perfect for carrots. Just remember that these jars cannot be reused for canning, as the glass is too thin to safely handle the water pressure.
