While we are on the subject of gifts and budgeting (the last two days I’ve given you tips related to gift giving and budgeting), start a “wish list” in January. Write down all of the people whom you buy gifts for—birthdays, holiday gifts, anniversary gifts, and showers you know might occur. Then as you hear those people mention things that they like, enjoy, or want make a note of it. They will be so surprised that you remembered something that they had mentioned in passing. The bonus—you’ll have a little extra time to find the best deal on the item you for which you are searching. If my husband says that he really likes a certain magazine, I have some time to find the best price for a subscription.
