Communicating with your Legislators: A Workshop
Monday, November 16, & Tuesday, November 17,
This workshop will cover basic aspects of working with state legislators. Designed for area residents who are interested in state legislative topics, there will be two identical sessions:
· Monday, November 16, 5:30 p.m. at Church of the Good Samaritan
· Tuesday, November 17, 9:30 a.m. in Social Room at Oak Ridge Civic Center
These sessions are open to the public and there is no admission charge. Each session will last no longer than 1 hour and 45 minutes. A shorter session will be the program for the Tuesday, November 17 Knoxville League meeting at 6:00pm at the Beck Cultural Center.
The main speaker is Stewart Clifton, long-time lobbyist who has only not-for-profit organizations as clients. The workshop will be of interest to people with an interest in furthering sound legislation during the 2010 session.
Among sponsors to date are the Tennessee, Knoxville/Knox County and Oak Ridge League of Women Voters organizations, Tennessee Citizens for Wilderness Planning, Tennessee Environmental Council, Tennessee Conservation Voters.
I’ve heard Mr. Clifton speak twice in the past, and I highly recommend these workshops!
