Tip of the day

When choosing what cooking vessel to use, try to avoid ones that are too large for the food that they will be cooking.  Larger pots and pans tend to take longer to heat.  When you use a larger pot for boiling something like potatoes, you will tend to add more water than you might need, wasting water, energy, and time.  If you have eyes on the stove that vary in size, try to match the vessel to the size of the eye—larger vessels go on larger eyes and smaller ones on the smaller eyes.
