Tip of the day

When you receive a catalog or unsolicited mailing, call the toll free number (often on the back of a catalog or inside a mailing) and ask that you be deleted from their mailing list.  Years ago, I used the do-not mail lists, and I found the experience to be not worth the trouble.  I still received tons of mailings that I had not requested, even after multiple tries to get off lists this way.  I found that if I phoned the companies individually as the mailings arrived, it ensured that I would not be inundated with unrequested paper and junk in my mailbox.
