A little light reading

  • This is one of the best articles, and for that matter arguments, for eating sustainably that I’ve ever read.  I realize that it is a long article, but I hope you’ll read it from start to finish.  If you don’t have time to read all, at least read the last two paragraphs.  I often talk with an older friend at church about this subject.  She has a hard time because she sees her daughters making different food choices than she did when preparing meals for her family.  To paraphrase, she talks about how she made home cooked meals, often fresh from her garden, for a family of 5 every day with very little outside help.  Her family lived away, and her husband didn’t help with food prep.  They didn’t eat out because they could not afford to do so.  Their budget was very limited for food bought at the grocery.  She was a working mother.  Yet she managed to cook for them, and she takes great pride in that fact.  She has fond memories of doing so.  It is possible!
  • Do you have any missing money?  A couple of years ago I claimed about $175 from an old job!  Cha-ching!

~A short list this week

Have a wonderful weekend!
