Last night at church, we were filling ziptop bags, and I passed on a tip about how to fill a ziptop bag with a liquid or something messy. Place the bag in a glass or jar and fold the top of the bag over the side of the jar’s mouth. When you are filling the bag, the container will keep it in place and reduce the risk of spills. It makes the entire process easier. I also do this when I’m preserving and freezing corn. If you are using large bags, I recommend a tall bowl instead of a jar.
BTW, this also works great for filling pastry bags with icing or frosting.
