Preserving the Seasons: Canning workshop series: focusing on local and in-season produce.
Late winter: Citrus.
Join us for a canning workshop where will make and discuss the process of making marmalade. Not only will you take a jar of the marmalade home, but you will also acquire canning skills, with which you will be able to extend flavors of the season into the the rest of the year. The class is appropriate for any level of canning enthusiast. You will have an opportunity to spend time with some great people, and ask any questions you may have about preserving food or canning. All are welcome, although due to the size of the Birdhouse kitchen, the workshop will be capped at 12 people.
$15 will cover ingredients. If you would like, message me about bartering or volunteering to bring ingredients instead of covering cost.
Please RSVP with the instructor as well as purchasing your ticket. To purchase your ticket click the Buy Now button below through PayPal. You do not need a paypal account to purchase a ticket. Space in the workshop it not guaranteed unless you have purchased your ticket.
I haven’t yet made it to a class at The Birdhouse, but I’ve heard very good things from others who have. If you are interested in learning some basic food preservation techniques, you might want to sign up.
