Remember that next month, I'm having an eat from the pantry challenge in February, which will include at least a couple of giveaways. I'll keep you posted about those details closer to time. In preparation for the challenge, now is a good time to take a look at your food stores. Start thinking about what you'll need to use and how you might plan to do so. For instance, I know that I have a lot of fruit in the freezer that I plan to make muffins with next month. I also have a little venison that I plan to make some dog food out of for our sweet Red.
While you are taking stock, give everything a good wipe down and once over. Winter months can sometimes bring with them pest infestations. Make sure that there aren't any opened packages that might entice an unwanted guest. If you have home canned goods, make sure no lids have become unsealed, and there aren't any signs of spoilage.
When cleaning out the fridge, you might as well do the dreaded task of vacuuming the refrigerator coils. I loathe this job, but it is important to do it at least once or twice a year. Ever ask yourself what you'd do if you had a million dollars drop in your lap? I really and truly believe that we'd live a very similar lifestyle as we do now with one exception--I'd be able to hire someone else to do tasks like this that I don't like to do! ;)
Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!
