Day 8 February Eat from the Pantry Challenge

Margaret of Blue Frog Creations wrote a great post on shopping the perimeter of the grocery store and how to save.  She is participating in this month’s challenge, and if you haven’t already checked out her blog, I hope you will!  Great job on saving money, Margaret!

Breakfast—cereal with milk, bananas.  Earl Grey tea for me.

Lunch—Daughter and I went to my dad’s house for lunch.  She had requested that he make her chicken drumsticks, which he of course was tickled to do.  We had bbq’d chicken, peas, mashed potatoes, and Cole slaw.  Hubby had leftover lamb burgers and a few snack sides.  Frankly, I’m still so full from lunch that I am changing around the meal plan tonight to make it a little lighter.

Supper—Scrambled eggs, home canned pears, and toast.  Hubby has a meeting and is eating there.

What did I learn from today?

Some days you just need a bowl of ice cream.  It is a must have for food storage. ;)

Eggs are a super quick, easy, healthier option for a meal.  How I look forward to farm fresh eggs when the weather warms and the farmers markets open!
