February Canning Workshop at The Birdhouse, Knoxville

DSC_1069Photo above is from my last batch of Caramelized Red Onion Relish.  If you’ve never tried it, you might be surprised at just how delicious red onion relish is!  I’m not sure if they will be using the same recipe or not, but if you’ve never made it, this might be a good chance to learn how:

Join us for a canning workshop where will make a red onion red wine relish. This relish has a deep, sophisticated flavor, and is good on everything from crackers to pizza. Not only will you take a jar of the relish home, but you will also acquire canning skills, with which you will be able to extend flavors of the season into the the rest of the year. The class is appropriate for any level of canning enthusiast. You will have an opportunity to spend time with some great people, and ask any questions you may have about preserving food or canning. All are welcome, although due to the size of the Birdhouse kitchen, the workshop will be capped at 12 people.

$15 will cover ingredients.

You can purchase the ticket to the workshop either through the Birdhouse website, or through my blog (look for the paypal button on the sidebar). 

Please RSVP with the instructor as well as purchasing your ticket. To purchase your ticket click the Buy Now button below through PayPal.  You do not need a paypal account to purchase a ticket. Space in the workshop it not guaranteed unless you have purchased your ticket.
