Tip of the day—Working Consignment Sales

Little Red Hen Consignment TagingI saw my friend Kristen Yartz of Little Red Hen Consignment Tagging Service at the grocery a couple of days ago, and she shared a wonderful insider tip with me.

Did you know that individuals can volunteer to work at the consignment sales to secure a Private Sale Pass, even if they are not consigning? I never knew that! She said that working the sale gives you access the private sale which gives you first run at the deals and is less hectic than the opening day of the sale to the community.

If you are local to the East TN area and interested in volunteering, the shifts are 4 hours long at Duck Duck Goose. Kristen said that Duck Duck Goose allows folks who are not consigning to sign up to work. You can use this link to sign up for shifts: Each shift worked advances you to an earlier shopping time during the Private Sale. Details below:

Choose 4 shifts to shop at 11:00am & to shop early the 1/2 price day, plus receive your Lucky Duck Pass.
Choose 3 shifts to shop at 11:00pm April 13th
Choose 2 shifts to shop at 1:00pm April 13th
Choose 1 shift to shop at 3:00pm April 13th

If you are outside of this area, you might want to contact the representatives of local consignment sales to ask if they offer volunteer shifts for non-consignors.

Be sure to also check out the Little Red Hen website and “Like” her on Facebook to stay up-to-date on consignment sales and tips in our area. Go to this link for some great tips that she shared last year for my readers about consignment sale shopping. Thanks again, Kristen!
