Tip of the day—Mulch

Once your seeds start to come in and your plants are more established, you can begin to mulch.  Using a couple of inches of mulch will help to reduce the need for frequent watering, protect the plants from temperature fluctuations, and inhibit the growth of weeds.  Talk about bang for your buck!

Happy Gardening!

  1. Just an idea for next year wherever your loved ones, children, grandchildren buy flowers for you on Mother's Day, have the store rep in charge of the flowers cut the flower stems at the store so the store can recycle the excess with the mulch given to the mulch groups, the stems I cut off my mom's tulips just went into the trash, having the store rep in charge of the floral deparment, like Kroger can help a mulch businesses with the excess stems and leaves!
