We had this with our breakfast this morning, and it is SOOOOO yum. It is a must try! I adapted this recipe slightly from one in a J. Fluke book.
Ingredients
Coffee
Water
1 t. ground cinnamon, more or less
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 c. brown sugar, more or less
Whipped cream or cool whip, optional
Directions
Add as much coffee to your maker as you would normally use for a full pot. (For our 12 cup maker, I used about 1 cup of ground coffee. Do this to your taste). Leave about 1 cup of water in the pot, but pour the rest in the top part of the coffeemaker as you normally would. Add the 1 t. cinnamon to the coffee filter with your coffee grounds. I didn’t measure—it doesn’t have to be exact. Add the 2 cinnamon sticks and the brown sugar (again I didn’t measure it) to the bit of water in the coffee pot. Start the coffee maker. Before serving, give the coffee a good stir. As it sits it becomes even more flavorful. Serve with a bit of whipping cream or cool whip on top. Enjoy!
