Join us Thursday, July 21, from 3 - 6 at New Harvest Park Farmers Market for our monthly Third Thursday Celebration.  In addition to all of the locally grown, fresh produce AND original, hand-made crafts, you will enjoy:

FREE Cooking Demonstration and FREE Samples from Pellissippi State Culinary Institute

From 3:30 - 4:00, outside, under the green tent, PSCC will show us how to make:

  • Chilled Cantaloupe and Peach Soup with Ginger Gellato
  • Fresh Beet Salad
  • Grilled Steak Wraps with Corn Salsa and Cucumber Dill Creme Fraiche

FREE Workshop from "Pick Tennessee Products" Spokesperson Tammy Algood

From 4:00 - 4:30, INSIDE the AIR CONDITIONED community building, learn all about the best way to choose and store fresh produce from your farmers market.  Tammy Algood, Pick Tennessee Products spokesperson and author of "The Complete Southern Cookbook" will present "25 Things to Remember at Your Farmers Market."  She will have recipe cards available for you, PLUS you can register to win DOOR PRIZES!

FREE Kids Activities from TVA Credit Union

TVA Credit Union will provide FREE kids activities with prizes (as long as they last).  Look for them in the grassy area near the playground!

FREE Pressure Cooker Inspections

Do you have Grandma's pressure cooker sitting in your pantry, but you're afraid that it might explode if you use it?  Bring your pressure cooker to the market this Thursday and let a representative from Knox County's Extension Office inspect it for you!  Look for her in and around the community building during the entire market - - -from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
