Tip of the day—Introduce yourself

OK, I’m about to get on my soapbox for a second--

I was recently at the ER, and even after years of working in healthcare, I’m always a little appalled at the fact that workers will enter your room and start performing some sort of procedure without even introducing themselves. 

If you are any sort of worker no matter what the field, make a habit of introducing yourself to clients or patients.  It makes a big difference to them, and in my opinion is one of the basic tenets of good customer service.

If you are a patient, as soon as a healthcare worker comes into your room, make a habit of introducing yourself to them.  This helps them to see you as a person instead of just a room number.
